David’s Story
Originally from Burlington, NC, David’s “first” career spanned over 30 years as a pastor and founder of community service non-profits. The last 15 years of his ministerial career were spent in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City, where he was Pastor of Metro Baptist Church and Executive Director of Rauschenbusch Ministries. Though his plans were to retire to Belize and build an island house, fate intervened. He married PSG’s Co-Founder, Jane Sanders, in 2007 and moved to Mississippi. Together, they got the house built and look forward to sunsets on Caye Caulker.
David’s Role
Because of his exceptional relationship skills, David was asked to join PSG and train to be an Executive Recruiter. He was a quick study. As PSG’s Executive Recruiter, David works in tandem with Monique Bouyer on professional level searches. David surprised a key healthcare client (we like to do that often) when he took on the Goliath competitor (a high priced national recruitment firm) and filled a CMIO position that had been open for nearly a year!
David works well with clients. But his heart is with his candidates as he says, “I enjoy developing on-going relationships with our candidates and being a source of encouragement along their career path.”
An ancillary role David plays for PSG is promoting our state, city, and local community. He is a graduate of Jackson Leadership 2009-10 class. He serves on various community service boards and is presently the President of the Fondren Association of Businesses, the flourishing urban renewal area in Jackson, MS, where the PSG offices are located.
